Create a Bedroom Fit for Royalty

You work 40, 50, or 60 hours a week, balancing your time between your day job and two side-hustles. At the end of each day, you come home to mountains of chores and children who need you.

It’s only after preparing dinner, feeding the family, and wrangling the kids to bed (in addition to washing dishes and doing a load of laundry) that you finally earn a moment of respite.

Your royal chamber awaits!

You work hard, so your place of rest should be of utmost comfort and luxury. If you want your bedroom to meet your regal tastes, try following these tips:

Fit For A King

What’s a bedroom without a bed? It’s the focal point of the room, and if you’re aiming for opulence then it’s important to choose a bed that makes a statement.

What makes a better statement than a king-sized upholstered bed? Precisely.

Or perhaps a four poster beds are more to your liking.

Whatever bed you choose, be sure it adds that extra OOMPH you’ve been looking for!

Bring The Drama

Luxury spaces call for luxury pieces, but you don’t have to break your wallet filling your bedroom with high-end stuff. Often times, only one or two stand-out items are all that’s needed to give your room the level of drama you’re looking for.

Think about switching out your old ceiling light for something a little fancier, like a reasonably-sized chandelier.

Drapery is another great way to add a dramatic effect to a room, especially if they’re bold and hung high. You might also consider adding a statement piece like a large painting or another form of wall décor.

Keep It Posh

Quality will always trump quantity, so add items to your bedroom that will show off your good taste in a conservative but classy way.

Storage can be a great way to accomplish this. Consider being experimental with your nightstand, dresser, or vanity by getting something mirrored, marbled, or metal.

Another option is adding a tastefully posh rug that will draw the eyes but also guide them to the rest of the room.

Also consider a storage bed to help you conceal extra items and linens.  We have some reviews of those type beds over here.

Comfort Your Way

There’s no point in having a room that looks luxurious if you can’t relax in it. It’s important for your bedroom to feature items that will give you the ability to really Zen out after a long day.

Whether it’s candles (real and flameless alike), oil diffusers, blankets, or a souped-up stereo system with LED lights, sub-woofers, and surround sound, add the things that will make the space feel like your space.

Final Thoughts

You’re the king (or queen) of your castle, and therefore deserve to have a space that reflects your lofty household status.

But you don’t have to spend a lot to have a room that looks like you spent a lot. All you need is a keen eye and the right vision. Now, go out and build your room of luxury. You’ve earned it!
